Profile
A wealth of Art and Design experience working within School, University and FE provisions teaching key stage 3 and 4 including GCSE, A 'Level, BTEC National Diplomas, OCNWN, NCFE, HND, Degree and post graduate qualifications. Specialist skills include: Illustration and Fine Art, Contemporary Crafts including Kiln Formed Glass, Ceramics and Jewellery, Textiles, Model and Mould Making, Traditional Stained Glass Painting, Leaded Glass, Design Theory and Contextual Studies, Business Studies, CAD using Microsoft Publisher & Photoshop. Graded ‘Outstanding’ in an Ofsted 2008 inspection and courses acknowledged as achieving a 100% Retention and Achievement at all Levels. Graded A by External Verifiers for all Exdecel Professional Development Craft Design programmes run between 2003 to 2009. I attribute success at Ofsted to creating and designing courses, which challenge students to reflect on ideas and to respond imaginatively, whilst exercising personal creativity and aesthetic judgment. Raised in excess of £140 thousand pounds to support young people’s development as artists. I have also integrated projects within Colleges, HE, Schools, Museums and within local Arts Festivals, the latter securing two feature articles written in the Times Educational Supplement. With over 18 years teaching experience I can deal with difficult situations in a collected and authorative manner. I am hard-working, dependable and thrive in new environments. I can adapt quickly to a range of courses. An enthusiastic and diligent approach to teaching, I always put the needs of the learner first. I am adaptable and always willing to learn new skills and share new interests. |
