Public Profile: I have taught in schools in Birmingham, which have challenging children, high numbers of E.A.L and in areas of Birmingham which have high levels of poverty. This has meant that my teaching has had to be engaging, captivating, interesting and creative, in order to captivate the children's interest and support their learning styles. I believe that I have made good progress in doing this and I am confident that I will successfully complete my P.G.C.E with Q.T.S in July 2010. I have been predicted an 'A' grade as my final grade and this shows the level of work and dedication I have applied to my teaching.
I have good behaviour management techniques and there is a good working ethos within the classrooms that I have taught in. I like to think that this is partly down to the positive, patient and encouraging way that I approach my teaching. I believe that it is important to have a mutual respect between myself and the children and this ensures that I am able to ascert control within the classroom, wthout creating unnecessary negativity, or having to raise my voice too often.
I have maintained and developed good relationships with the staff who I have been training with. I believe that this is crucial to develop my teaching, develop the children who I am teaching and to support the whole year group aswell.
I have experience of both Primary Key Stages, aswell as teaching experience in a Reception class. I am aware of the importance of delivering the National Curriculum and using this to direct the children's learning, through completing continuous assessment and re-directing my teaching to accommodate this.
I am highly dedicated, motivated and willing to take on the challenges and high rwards that the teaching profession has to offer. I am looking forward to qualifying, so that I am able to manage my own class and help the children to enjoy and utilise, the opportunities the education system has to offer them.
