During my three teaching practices I have gained a range of experience. I have experienced a range of classroom management skills that can be applied to further teaching, including the importance of applying a clear code of conduct, managing behaviour, providing rewards and promoting a good learning environment.
I have also gained experience of the importance of identification of SEN and G&T pupils in order to apply the aims of ‘Every Child Matters’ within teaching and to ensure that every child achieves their academic potential, including the use of IEP’s or fast tracking provisions. Work can then be pitched at the correct level to ensure learning occurs. I have also been involved with the corporate life of a school. I regularly attended staff meetings, carried out playground duties and took part in a parents evening alongside my classroom teacher. Whilst on teaching practice I also observed the different year groups throughout the school in order to familiarise myself with them. Communication and Organisation skills Continuous contact and working with pupils and other education staff within schools requires high levels of organisation and planning which I feel I have. Good computer and ICT skills I am confident using a wide range of ICT packages, which include Windows XP, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Communication and research skills include use of email and the Internet. Team Work and Commitment Whilst on teaching practice I have been praised for showing high levels of teamwork with both pupils and other education staff. Knowledge and Understanding of the Primary Curriculum I have planned and taught a number of core and non-core lessons to both key stage one and key stage two children. |

I am due to finish my degree in BA (Hons) Education with QTS in May/June, so am looking for my first teaching post as an NQT. My specialism subject is Religious Education. I have completed three teaching practices where I have taught year five children and a mixed class of year one and year two children.
